Automotive parts and components are used to replace defective components and to prolong the life of an automobile. They are available in spare parts shops and are manufactured not only by the original equipment or car manufacturer but also by independent manufacturers.
Automotive parts & components are classified as: engine parts, transmission parts, chassis and shock absorbers, electrical and ignition systems and the automobile body. Engine and transmission spare parts include many items like: pistons, piston rings, brake liners, clutches, fuel systems, tappets and valves, cylinder liners, exhaust pipes and hoses, distributors, spark plugs, carburetors, fuel injectors, etc. Transmission parts can include the whole gearbox or individual gears and gear assemblies, pulleys, belts, sprockets and chains, etc. Electrical systems can cover everything from the full wire harness to lighting systems, ignition systems, windscreen wipers, headlamps and taillights, beacons, dippers and also interior car lights. Shock absorber units can include shock absorbers, leaf springs, trusses and joints and many other items.
Buying parts from car manufacturers can be expensive but there are also many reputable and reliable part manufacturers who can offer reliable parts at a reduced cost without compromising on the quality.
