Telecommunication Systems
Telecommunications is the extension of systems of communication over a distance. It includes such media as radio, television, telephony, data communication and computer networking. A transmitter, a medium, a channel mounted on the medium, and a receiver are required in a telecommunications system. The transmitter transforms the message into a physical unit, which is a signal. The medium modifies the signal from the transmitter to the receiver. The receiver decodes the message and enables perfect comprehension.
Telecommunication can be of three types, between two points, between a point and multiple points and a broadcast. Some instances of telecommunications systems commonly used today are: radio teletype, the global telephone network, television, communications satellites, ethernet, predictive dialers and the Internet.
