Connector Manufacturing Machines
Machinery used in the manufacture of connectors includes: hand tools (crimp, insertion and removal) used with electrical connectors wire strippers (hand, pneumatic and electric), wire cutters and heat guns.
Steps for manufacturing connectors: configure the five polishing tables and the automatic abrasive changer. The volume fixture between the polishing tables will be manipulated and controlled in any sequence by a three-axis linear stage. The position and pressure on the connectors are controlled to ensure pressure buildup and profile. The cleaning platform with its non-contact ultrasonic cleaner, an air-jet cleaner, and a contact wiping station is used to break the adhesion forces between the particles and the end-face. The air jet serves to evacuate particles that are not bonded. A contact cleaner eliminates watermarks. Processes are followed to control uniformity: precise material removal for each polishing step to check on geometrical yield loss. Pressure profile control to limit failures. Adaptive process control maximizes the use of abrasives. Standard and enhanced inspection to detect and repair surface irregularities. Statistical process control to predict misprocess, if any.
