Diary machinery and equipment is designed to produce different dairy products like fresh milk, pasteurized milk, dry milk, yogurt, white cheese, butter, infant food, and other products. The machinery is designed for batch or continuous production rates like 5,000 liters, 50,000 liters, etc. of produce per day.

Diary machinery equipment is made of high quality, corrosion-resistant steel, brass or food-grade plastic. The machinery may include all or specific items like receiving and heating milk, cooling systems that cool to the right temperature, refrigeration and cold storage systems and equipment for pasteurization. The raw stock may be fresh milk, dry milk or skim milk. Cow milking machines that automatically milk cows in farms are also available. Other machinery includes separators, fermentation units, compressors, dairy pipes and valves, wiring and circuits, pumps and others.

Packing units are also available that pack the produce in plastic or polythene bags and seal them, tetra packing systems, cartons, sachets and pouches, stand-up Doy-Pack, trays, tubes and tin packing and others. Dairy products are perishable items. The machines need to be rugged and reliable, as a stalled machine can ruin a whole batch.
