Gas Appliance Burners
Gas appliance burners are used in applications like domestic cooking, restaurant and catering services, for home heating and in other uses. Gas fuels such as natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas with methane and propane are normally used.
Gas burners come in various shapes and sizes. Gas is passed from a cylinder or a reservoir through pipelines into the gas burner. The burner is made of cast steel or aluminum and has multiple small orifices arranged in an array at the top of the burner. Air is allowed to flow inside through the venturi effect. The burner is fixed on a rigid stand. Multiple burners can be placed at a small distance apart to allow cooking vessels to be mounted on the stand.
The energy input in British Thermal Units per hour and the gas consumption per hour specified in grams per hour are the important specifications for gas appliance burners. Care needs to be taken while handling these devices as recklessness can lead to accidents.
